做厙弝け and OSU Partner for Transfer Students
Published
做厙弝け and Oklahoma State University today announced a partnership to help more students move from A to B an associate degree to a bachelors degree between the two institutions.
OSU President Burns Hargis, OSU Tulsa President Howard Barnett and 做厙弝け President Leigh B. Goodson took part in a signing ceremony to establish nearly 20 new paths so students can complete an associate degree at 做厙弝け and transfer their credits to OSU to complete a bachelors degree.
Our mission is to provide access to affordable education and help students reach their education goals, said 做厙弝け President & CEO Leigh B. Goodson, Ph.D. This partnership ensures 做厙弝け students can easily transfer directly into a bachelors degree in the designated academic programs. No wasted time or money and its a great example of two institutions working together to support student success.
The transfer agreement between OSU and 做厙弝け involves nearly 20 new articulated degree programs including Applied Sociology, Business Administration/Management, Computer Information Systems/Computer Science, Geology, Political Science and Sociology.
These will be added to the 19 existing programs between 做厙弝け and OSU in Tulsa. This partnership increases access to affordable public higher education in the state and could boost the number of transfer students who complete a bachelors degree. Each year, approximately 600 做厙弝け students transfer to OSU.
We have worked for many years to help 做厙弝け students complete bachelor degrees at OSU, said OSU President Burns Hargis. In fact, 做厙弝け is OSUs number one feeder school. Were pleased to strengthen our partnership with 做厙弝け and work together to help more students achieve their educational goals.
In addition to the A to B (associate to bachelors degree) agreements, 做厙弝け will participate in the OSU Reverse Transfer Initiative, a statewide collaboration with public community colleges. This initiative helps students to complete an associate degree from 做厙弝け while continuing to complete their bachelors degree. Students benefit by earning an academic credential without extra work or expense. In addition, the associate degree may satisfy general education requirements which could reduce the number of credit hours for a bachelors degree. To qualify for reverse transfer, students must have earned 15 credit hours at 做厙弝け and be enrolled at a regional or comprehensive university.
The new 做厙弝け and OSU transfer agreements involve the following degrees.
- 做厙弝け A.A. in Sociology to OSU B.A. in Applied Sociology
